Tone Poem “Kurupira, the guardian of nature” (2023)
The Kurupira (in old Tupi-Guarani), “Curupira”, or “Kurupí” (in Guarani), is a supernatural being, guardian of the forests.
This legendary character is essentially part of Tupi-Guarani influenced myths, such as those of the Brazilian Amazon, northeast Argentina and Paraguay.
His raison d’être is to protect the forests from the destructive habits of man.
This work was commissioned by the OSESP – Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo for its 70th anniversary

Poema sinfónico “Kurupira, el guardián de la naturaleza” (2023)
El Kurupira (en tupí-guaraní antiguo), “Curupira”, o “Kurupí” (en guaraní), es un ser sobrenatural, guardián de los bosques.
Este personaje legendario forma parte esencialmente de los mitos de influencia tupiguaraní, como los de la Amazonia de Brasil, el nordeste de Argentina y Paraguay.
Su razón de ser es proteger los bosques de los hábitos destructivos del hombre.
Esta obra fue comisionada por la OSESP – Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo por su 70 aniversario.
